The primary purpose of this website is to provide accurate and authentic information about Onitsha.

The Ime Obi (Palace) serves as the epicenter of the Obi of Onitsha’s domain. This sacred complex includes the palace grounds (Ilo-Eze) and the public entrance (Onu-Ilo-Eze). Historically, each of the two royal clans, Okebunabo and Umuezearoli, maintained their own palace (Okwu Eze). However, in 1984, the current Ime Obi was established at Ezechima Square.
Under the reign of His Majesty Nnaemeka Achebe, significant renovations and expansions have been made to the palace, including new facilities, remodeled chambers, and additional structures like the east and west stands that can seat 3,000 people.
The palace now houses various offices, halls, and the Onitsha Advancement Foundation (OnAF). The former Okwu-Eze sites have been repurposed, with Okwu-Eze Umuezearoli serving as a community social and sports center and plans underway to convert Okwu-Eze Okebunabo into a cultural center
