The Onitsha Community Covid-19 Response Team (OCCRT) has received palliatives from the International Breweries Plc (IBL) for distribution to vulnerable members of the community.
The palliatives which comprised 150 bags of 10kg rice and 500 packs of malt drinks were delivered by Chinyelugo Chuma Umunna, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Manager, International Breweries Plc. Chief Chulo Asika, Akpe Olodi and Chief Mike Areh, Ede Gbogbogaga Joint Coordinators of the OCCRT received the palliatives at Ime Obi Onicha, Ezechima Square.
Chinyelugo Umunna stated that the International Breweries Plc remains committed to identifying with immediate and surrounding communities in its areas of operations, adding that ‘’the palliatives are part of our efforts to help alleviate the impact of the pandemic on the lives of indigenes Onitsha.’’ Chief Asika, expressed gratitude to IBL and prayed for the growth of the company, adding that the Onitsha community looks forward to a continued cordial relationship with the brewer.
At the presentation were Chinyelugo Osita Anionwu, Chief of Staff to His Majesty the Obi of Onitsha, Sir Chike Ekweogwu, President General Onitsha Improvement Union, Honourable Patrick Agha Mba, Chairman, Onitsha North Local Government and Kpari Rita Okolonji, Lead, Field Operations Team.
