The Agbalanze Cultural Association of Onitsha is the premier socio-cultural membership-by-subscription organizations in Onitsha. Such membership confers distinction and status on the members but also demands of them exemplary conduct and behavior at all times. The organizations attend to the well-being of members and carry out some philanthropic activities in the domain. Agbalanze Cultural Association came into existence in 1954. 

In particular, Agbalanze Cultural Association is the social forum for Ozo titled men of Onitsha. known for the plumes (eagle feathers) adorning their hand-woven caps The Ozo institution is distinct from Agbalanze Association and is as old as the community. It confers traditional priesthood on the initiate and the right to preside over spiritual matters of the Onitsha traditional religion. It is also the stepping stone to chieftaincy (Ndichie) and kingship.
